Job Description

If you’re a commercially curious early-career professional who enjoys understanding how markets move, and you’re motivated to build meaningful relationships in a fast-paced, high-performance environment, we want to hear from you.

About Wenham Carter

We find the minds that move markets.

Wenham Carter is a global executive search, recruitment and deal origination firm founded in the UK in 2001. We work with corporations, start-ups and governments leading change in fast-moving markets.

We build trusted networks before demand becomes obvious. That’s how we connect our clients to opportunities others don’t see – from people to partnerships, customers to capital. Every introduction is intentional. Carefully chosen. Designed to make a difference.

Our New York office opened in 2024, led by Joe Dowd, Senior Partner & VP, North America. We are building a focused, ambitious team in one of the world’s most competitive markets. The way we work in New York reflects how we operate globally: curious, precise and relationship-led.

The Opportunity

This is a genuine ground-floor opportunity.

As a Recruitment Consultant in our Fintech division, you will help grow Wenham Carter’s presence across North America. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to connect high-impact talent with organisations shaping the future of their industries.

This is not about simply filling vacancies. It’s about understanding markets, spotting patterns, and building relationships that create long-term value.

You will begin by supporting senior colleagues on executive searches, market mapping and research. As you develop, your path can evolve. You may choose to move into full business development, focus on delivery excellence, or build long-term client relationships through account management. The direction is yours to shape.

What You’ll Do

  • Support senior team members on executive search assignments
  • Conduct market mapping and research to identify talent in specialist and hard-to-reach areas
  • Build and maintain networks within high-growth and emerging sectors
  • Research companies, competitors and market dynamics to inform search strategy
  • Support business development activity, including prospect research and pitch preparation
  • Engage candidates through outreach, screening and ongoing relationship management

Who You Are

You are curious, thoughtful and commercially aware. You don’t wait for direction – you look for opportunity and act on it.

You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift. You listen carefully, ask good questions and build trust quickly.

You want to build a career in a high-performance, entrepreneurial business.

You might be:

  • A recent graduate with relevant internships
  • Or someone with 1–3 years’ experience in sales, recruitment, consulting or another commercial role

You’ll also bring:

  • Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to engage people at all levels
  • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in business, markets and technology
  • Good judgement and decisiveness in ambiguous situations
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Resilience, adaptability and ambition to grow

Compensation & Benefits

  • Depending on experience, your base will be between $70,000 - $90,000 + uncapped OTE.
  • First year total OTE estimate: $125,000 - $150,000
  • Benefits include: Healthcare, 401K, Free Gym membership and many monthly, quarterly and annual incentives (Holidays, lunch clubs, etc).

We back our people, celebrate each other's wins, and reward performance.

Location

New York City (Brooklyn), onsite.

Equal Opportunity

Wenham Carter is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building an inclusive environment where different perspectives are valued.
