LHH Recruitment Solutions is supporting a company near Waukegan with a search for a Payroll/Accounts Payable Specialist. This role in onsite and direct hire/permanent. The company has retirements coming up and looking for someone that wants to be part of a team environment in a role that can evolve.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll

• Process payroll through Paylocity
• Enter and validate payroll data for accuracy
• Manage payroll tax processing
• Enter payroll information into Sage for project accounting
• Review payroll data transferred between spreadsheets, Paylocity, and Sage
• Handle fringe benefits administration
• Prepare union reports
• Process new hire information, particularly for field employees
• Support monthly payroll audits
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies

Union Payroll

• Work with five different unions
• Ensure compliance with union-specific pay rules and requirements
• Review payroll calculations and reporting for accuracy
• Union experience is highly preferred

Accounts Payable

• Process invoices received electronically
• Track vendor statements
• Coordinate invoice approvals and coding with Project Managers
• Process AP payments through Sage
• Handle employee expenses and job-related expenditures
• AP experience can be taught and developed

HR Support

• Assist with employee onboarding
• Support benefits administration and annual renewals
• Provide general HR-related administrative assistance

Salary: $55K-$60K

Required:

• Strong payroll experience is required

• Comfortable working with Excel formulas and look ups
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Able to research and resolve discrepancies independently
• Detail-oriented and process-driven
• Union payroll experience is a plus
• Open to identifying process improvements and efficiencies

Pay Details: $55,000.00 to $60,000.00 per year
